For the month of March, each day I am writing and posting a slice of my life, hosted by Two Writing Teachers.
March Slice of Life Challenge Day 27:
Morning Spring Walk in Wisconsin
Morning Spring Walk in Wisconsin
Sidewalk ice patches
crackle as I pause, admire
daffodils emerge.
Geese announce presence
in overhead honks, mourning
doves coo near snow mounds.
I love the sounds on a morning walk. So peaceful as everything starts waking up and it is not yet disturbed by the day. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your subtle reminder that spring indeed is coming. This year more than most the reminder is extra needed.
ReplyDeleteDaffodils - can't wait to see them. Snowdrops have been the little brave flowers showing their heads here.
ReplyDelete"Geese announce presence; in overhead honks" - I can hear them. Great description! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIsn't daffodils and ice patches an oxymoron or something!?! I'm still waiting to see them here in Indiana!
ReplyDeleteLove the emphasis on sounds in your haiku. Sidewalk ice patches crackle, geese announce presence, mourning doves coo. Perfect capture of your morning walk.
