Signs of Growth
From darkness, despair,/
and mess of barren season:/
fresh growth emerges.

fresh growth emerges.

ReplyDeleteLovely haiku. “Mess of barren season” captures what’s happening in my yard, too. I also see tulips sprouting against the refuse from last fall, but it has been too cold for me to clean it all up. I can’t wait to see the flowers bud in your yard.
ReplyDeleteGAH - third time I've tried to comment. SIGH. We are just a few days behind you in terms of green shoots. So looking forward to them here. Your haiku, especially the evocative middle line, is lovely.
ReplyDeleteFresh growth emerges, clinging to this hope amid the darkness and despair of the pandemic. There's something healing in the colors of spring, isn't there?
