I’ve had a lot on my mind this week. It’s been a bursting week, both at home and school, leaving me feeling a bit overwhelmed and messy in every way possible. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually.
I need today to relax and regenerate, but there is an unending to-do list and too many activities to transport our kids to and from. And our house is currently a disaster, with piles of laundry waiting, dishes piled in the sink from last night’s dinner, and it seems like every corner of the house needs serious attention. It will be another busy day.
As I was returning and rearranging books on the bookshelf early this morning, this spine poem jumped out at me:
Impromptu Spine Poetry |
No Matter the Wreckage,
Take Joy-
Here I am:
Beloved.
Despite the physical and emotional mess I am feeling today, this is message I needed as a reminder today.
Wonderful poem! Just the positive message about joy, presence and love that it sounds like you need this weekend. I hope you take time to recharge this weekend too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elisabeth! I ALWAYS need positive messages about joy, presence, and love.
DeleteThis is incredible! I may have come across spine poetry before and this, well, I feel heartened just seeing it here. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherri! That is such an amazing compliment!
DeleteFirst of all...I think our homes are twins...the image of every corner needing work...I feel ya! And love the spine poem. I have never done one but you are inspiring me. I certainly have many book piles around my house!
ReplyDeleteHA! My house doesn't look any better than yesterday! I am happy to inspire you!
DeleteNice! I love the Take Joy! I have not put a spine poem together in awhile. Love this! Hope you find a few minutes to relax today.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joanne! Take Joy is actually on my list of books to be read. I have heard from so many that this is an amazing book about writing!
DeleteLove the spine poem. That it appeared organically makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how old you are, but I can say I wish I'd not obsessed over the messes so much as a young mother. I'm better accepting the messes as I head toward the golden years.
Thank you Glenda! I am in my early 40s! I do need to get better at accepting messes, both in my house and when things don't go right!
DeleteTake joy! What a great message to hold on to. I hope you get some down time this weekend! Spine poetry is always a slice for me in the month of March. Last year I even did a PD book spine poem - fun little twist to a favorite!
ReplyDeleteThank you Leigh Anne. I didn't get much down time, but I got some... I love that you did PD on spine poetry! I bet that teachers loved it!
